Christian Astuguevieille has based his design on the creation of a fabric called "Fontaines et Animaux" (Fountains and Animals) that was designed by Jean-Baptiste Huet, printed using the copperplate technique circa 1803, at the Oberkampf manufactory in Jouy-en-Josas. Using the Neoclassical motif of this print, the artist has highlighted certain elements with a brush and India ink and created contemporary abstract shapes. By looking in a new way at a classical design from the 18th century, the artist has brought it to life again.
