Christian Astuguevieille has taken a new look at this emblematic fabric designed by Jean-Baptiste Huet, which is conserved in our archives. It was printed using the copperplate technique at the Oberkampf manufactory in Jouy-en-Josas, circa 1803. The scale of the design has been modified and the original latticework on the background has been replaced by flat areas of color in the artist’s own shades. The Neoclassical motif is thus enhanced by a contemporary approach.
