Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik is a swedish wallpaper company with roots reaching back to a long and genuine handicraft tradition. The workforce consists of real enthusiasts with several years of experience from both the craftsmanship and the industry. What we all have in common is the passion for beautiful patterns and the pride of making an imprint in the swedish wallpaper history.
The production is based on traditional printing techniques in our own factory in Ulricehamn. Our mindset revolves around the idea that tradition is as important as innovation, which makes us a flexible and innovative partner with original ideas. The foundation of our company is based on experience, pride and knowledge.
Our factory generates both exclusive limited editions and large series. To mention some of our clients we make wallpapers for Långelid/von Brömssen, Svenskt Tenn, Littlephant, Studio Lisa Bengtsson, ACNE Studios, Gudrun Sjödén and Mimou.
With our team and co-partners we can offer an overall tailored-fit solution for businesses, designers or interior designers. We promise products of the highest quality and personal service (which suits your needs). We also offer distribution and storage services.
A different kind of wallpaper factory
Our history began where another ended. When the old wallpaper factory faced the threat of closure the factory’s long lasting knowledge, rich heritage and unique production was at risk of disappearing. Meanwhile existed a strong energy and will among the workers at the factory to retain and preserve the unique tradition and production, which lead to the creation of today’s Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik.

In a time where mass production is a standard we still like to believe that there’s room for both the small, independent producer and the mass producers on the market.

We combine traditional craftsmanship with new shapes and ideas. In close collaboration with some of the most leading designers in Sweden we create wallpaper of the highest quality. We find it important to rush slowly, to make sustainable choices and to have fun in the process. What defines our designer collaborations is the strong sense of transparency, cooperation and creativity. We are proud of what we create and achieve together.
Under the comprehensive term LOCALS we will release classic plain wallpapers with our unique colour ID. Wallpapers which manage well on their own but also capture and emphasize the available selection for those who aim at matching.
Master dyer Thomas Johansson and Master printer Ann Merlander have with great commitment worked on producing the absolutely most sustainable and harmonious colour palette for Lake View. The inspiration is local – Lake Åsunden in our home town Ulricehamn.
An early September morning by the lake owns the whole colour spectrum of LAKE VIEW. The colour scheme and even the names of the wallpapers have been inspired by the first frost, the reeds closest to the shoreline, the blushing morning sky and the light veils of mist over the glassy waters which indicate that the temperatures of the cold night will give way to a warm and beautiful autumn day.
The wallpaper collection LAKE VIEW consists of seven shades in two different designs – one monochrome wallpaper and a version with a more textile texture. The latter has been given the ending Tactile since you cannot resist passing your hand over the wallpaper.
