IN CELEBRATION OF OUR FIFTH ANNIVERSARY, WE RETURNED TO OUR ROOTS CREATING A COLLECTION INSPIRED BY OUR EVOCATIVE HOMELAND. ONCE AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY, FOR CENTURIES TRANSYLVANIA HAS BEEN A MELTING POT OF PEOPLES, CULTURES AND RELIGIONS, FROM SAXONS, HUNGARIANS AND ROMANIANS TO SZEKELY, ASHKENAZI JEWS, ARMENIANS AND GYPSIES.
Surrounded by mountains and forests, villagers were united in their communion with nature. Poor in resources, but rich in inspiration and ideas, traditional countryside homes were dressed with jubilantly embroidered textiles to soften wooden furniture, and trimmed tasselled lamps to brighten the dark winter nights.
"A tribute to our ancestors and to who we are today, TRANSYLVANIAN ROOTS pays homage to the history and heritage of our fantastic birthplace. From the unseen and undiscovered to the instantly recognisable and iconic, we pay homage to art, architecture, artefacts, culture, rituals and people from all four corners of the globe. Created with appreciation for the history of art and design, our collections present a host of different styles, each with a strong aesthetic identity inspired by the marvellous creations of mankind. Led by founder Stefan ORMENISAN, our design team creates vintage, classical, traditional and contemporary looks, generating a unique bohemian lifestyle that encapsulates the spirit of wanderlust of our birthplace.
Our products are rich in detail with high quality finishing and unique embellishments. We design and produce premium home furnishings inspired by the traditions and craftsmanship of our ancestors. All our products are manufactured by using finest quality materials from the best makers around the globe. Natural linen from Belgium, the finest leather is sourced from the best tanners of Italy, cotton velvet is made in England and our wallpaper substrate is produced in Germany and Finland and printed in Transylvania.
We are not just purveyors of wallpaper or fabric. We are creators of moods, stories and lifestyles. A world of intriguing combinations and endless creativity, our luxury wallcoverings, fabrics, furniture and home accessories are timeless pieces that enrich lives with beauty and style.

MINDTHEGAP STARTED ITS JOURNEY AS THE MAIN BRAND OF GLOBAL ART PRODUCTION COMPANY,
DESIGNING AND PRODUCING WALLPAPERS AND WALL ART.
TODAY, THE BRAND ESTABLISHED IN TRANSYLVANIA, OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF PREMIUM HOME FURNISHINGS INCLUDING WALLCOVERINGS,
FABRICS, FURNITURE, LIGHTING, WALL ART AND ACCESSORIES.
Our heritage has made us naturally eco-conscious. We manufacture eco-friendly products, with minimal impact on the environment.
MINDTHEGAP's headquarters are located in Transylvania alongside our production facility where we manufacture wallcoverings, lighting and framed prints, whilst our fabrics, furniture and accessories are sourced from trusted European suppliers. Each year we launch several lifestyle collections of coordinated home furnishings inspired by global culture and the iconic creations of mankind. Every product in our range is subject to eco-friendly consciousness, our aim is to create items that leave a minimal footprint on the environment.
With a multichannel global distribution in over 70 countries, MINDTHEGAP has grown in a short time to become a trendsetting, design leading and well-known luxury home décor brand.

THIS IS WHY, ONE OF OUR GOALS IS TO KEEP THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS CLOSE TO OUR HOMELAND AND TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL ARTISANS.
WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP ALIVE THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND TO ENCOURAGE SMALL BUSINESSES THAT USE TRADITIONAL METHODS TO PRODUCE ITEMS THAT HONOUR THEIR ANCESTORS HERITAGE.

THE ECO-CONSCIOUS HERITAGE
We are born and raised in Transylvania, surrounded by lush meadows and charming woodlands. Since very young, we are taught not only to cherish, but also to value everything that nature so generously provides us.
Year by year, we are taking ambitious measures to minimize our impact on the environment and support our beautiful homeland. We are proud that all our premium wallcoverings are made using non-woven substrates containing FSC certified cellulose. This means that we use only materials that have been sourced in environmentally-friendly, social responsible and economically viable manners. The entire printing process, done in our factory uses only eco-friendly water-based inks. When it comes to fabrics, we only choose natural fibres like linen or cotton, all of them being recyclable. Furthermore, starting this year we have removed any plastic component from our wallpaper and lighting packaging and we are in the process of applying this measure to all our range of products.
